After not being admitted into medical school, Jennifer was confronted in her faith – wondering if she heard the Lord for herself because she believed God had given her specific words for that direction of study. Around that time, three different pastors saw the call of full-time ministry over her life and suggested she go to seminary, however, she was still wrestling with the idea that she could hear God for herself, and didn’t want to step into ministry without knowing that was God’s plan for her life. With the encouragement of the words from the pastors, Jennifer decided to go to seminary and once she graduated, she had a total of $40,000 in student loans! Next, she became a full-time missionary and was asking the Lord how she was going to raise support for her monthly rent, while also paying off her loans. Soon after, a friend encouraged her to pray specific prayers, so she asked specifically for her student loan to be paid off with one check. For four years she prayed for this, and one day she received a phone call from friends who said they wanted to pay off her student loans and had heard from God a year ago, but only now felt it was now the time. Asking for the amount, she told them it totalled to $40,000, so they tried paying off with their credit card, however, the bank notified them that they couldn’t use this method, and suggested they pay via check or money order. So they wrote a check for $40,000 and Jennifer was debt free by the end of the day! This showed her that she not only hears God for herself but also that He hears her and wants to answer her prayers, even in their specificity, because He’s a good Father.
