We are pregnant with our third child. Our previous pregnancy and birth of twins was relatively straight-forward and stress-free, so heading into our third pregnancy we were not worried. We went in for our 26 week check up with the doctor and when they measured my wife’s belly it didn’t come up to the required length of 26cm. It was well under normal at 22cm, and the doctor was concerned that the baby’s growth could be stunted.
They wanted us to come back in six days to run some more tests and scans. Needless to say, between appointments we were bombarded with worry and fear – yet we put our trust in God and prayed that our baby is growing better than expected.
Upon the next check up at the doctor they remeasured my wife expecting a little bit of growth from the last measurement, but nothing extravagant. Upon measuring, the doctor was shocked that the baby’s growth had not only caught up to where it should have been, but it had exceeded the normal measurement of nearly 28cm. Basically, the baby had had six weeks of growth in six days! Wow, praise God! – from Elevation Church Australia
