I had the honor of going to Tijuana, Mexico, on a mission trip team. In one of our prayer meetings about six weeks before leaving, I asked the Lord to show me something I was going to do in Tijuana. I saw a very clear picture of a little boy’s face. I was handing him a balloon toy. The Lord said to me, “When you meet this boy and when you touch him and play with him, he will ‘get it’ – he will feel My love.” Needless to say, I was on the lookout for this little guy in Mexico.
Before our second night of ministry, the team and I went out to invite people to the meeting. We started twisting up balloon toys and animals, giving them out to a group of children. Two little boys wheeled up to us on their tricycles, and as I turned and looked down at them, I realized one of them was him – the boy in my vision! I quickly knelt down, put my arms out, and said with a big smile, “Oh, look! It’s you.” He just smiled back at me, and our eyes locked for a moment. He did not understand my English, but I talked to him anyway, and I quickly made him a couple of balloon toys. We played “sword fight” with our balloon swords and we connected and laughed. He followed us down the street and back, and by the time we left, we had spent about twenty minutes together. I prayed over him, declared truth over him, and told him Jesus loved him and set him apart for the Kingdom! I picked him up, held him, and prayed into his destiny, and I spoke the love of God over him. He smiled a lot at me and told me his name was Isaac, as that is one of the only conversations I could have with him in Spanish.
Later on that night, the children’s team told me he had come to the church meeting, and I am so thankful he now has a place to connect, hear about God’s love, and grow up to know Him.
Jesus loved a little boy so much He told me about him in a vision six weeks earlier. Yes, it’s true – Jesus really loves the little children!
