Everyone in my family from Taiwan follows many idols. Before I became a Christian, I went to a temple because my brother had a car accident and was in intensive care for seven days without opening his eyes.
The priest in the temple told me, “You have to bow down and show honor and respect to an idol. Then I heard another voice: “Why do you bow down to him? He is just a man.”
The priest used witchcraft, and my brother opened his eyes while in the ICU. After this I believed there was spiritual power. The priest said, “You rescued your brother, you need to come to the temple.” I followed him for a time, but I felt fear and no peace.
At that time I had two Christian friends who invited me to church. When I went to church I felt the light and life of Christ. I listened to the preacher, and he told me Jesus died for me. I didn’t believe straight away; I wanted to understand more. What is the difference between Buddha and Christ? After a year and a half, I decided to follow Christ. In Buddhism, you have to pay for your prayers. I feel so free now.
Two years later I watched the “Finger of God” DVD in Australia. I saw that God was the healer, and He wasn’t charging us money or cursing us if we didn’t follow Him. Then I found out about Bethel Church and came to Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry. I was the only Christian in my family, but my mother began to see many positive changes in my life.
This year my mom had a dream about my brother. In the dream she saw him in a car accident that caused multiple injuries. Then she saw a picture of my brother with all his injuries in a Buddhist calendar. She could feel spirits around her trying to make her fearful. She told the spirits, “I now follow Jesus! In Jesus’ name get out of here!” The spirits suddenly disappeared.
She wasn’t a Christian before the dream, but now she wants to give her life to Jesus! My mother doesn’t worship idols anymore. She has changed. When I received $2900 for my mission trip, more than what I needed, my parents couldn’t believe it!
When I returned to Taiwan, my mother asked me to take her to church so she could be baptized. My father has also changed. He recently had a bus accident, and I texted him a Bible verse. A neighbor told him, “Hey, you can get peace by worshipping an idol in my house.” My father said, “No, I don’t need to.”
God is turning my family around! I am really looking forward to going home again to Taiwan and seeing every idol gone. My family will become the first Christian family of all my relatives!
