My dad was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease about a year and a half year ago. We decided as a family never to claim that he actually had the disease, only that he had been diagnosed. If you don’t know much about it, it’s an incurable disease where your immune system attacks your intestines. Because of the disease, he was on very strong medication that affected his day-to-day health and mood, and horrible sickness could strike random parts of his body.
About a year ago, my dad was called out at a Bethel Church conference in Oregon for his Crohn’s. After that, he was symptom free for about three weeks. However, the symptoms soon returned and he had to go back on all his medications. We continued to claim his healing as a family.
My parents accompanied me on my move to Redding, California back in August, 2012, which was perfect timing for him to get a sozo! Sozo is a ministry for inner healing at Bethel Church. My dad came back from his appointment feeling the love of God for the first time!
I knew God was going to cure my dad’s incurable disease this year. During the Randy Clark conference, Randy talked about the miracles he had seen relating to Crohn’s disease, so I claimed the testimony for my dad. I went home for the weekend, just in time for my dad to have a colonoscopy, and the doctor told him that his crohn’s was completely gone!
God has completely shifted the faith base of my family. Coming home to a family that now completely relies on God for everything is a miracle in itself. As students, we are shifting spiritual atmospheres in our homes simply by surrendering everything to God. What a blessing.
