I grew up on the mission field, and as a teenager I taught English for a lady in our church who had incredible faith. One day she was on a train coming from the northern part of the country down to the southern part. An announcement came over the PA system, asking for any doctors to please come to carriage seven. She’s not a doctor (she’s a kindergarten principal), but she jumped up and ran to carriage seven.
There were a couple of men there who looked like doctors, and there was a man lying on the bed. She pushed her way through people asking what was going on. She was told that the man had died in his sleep. They said he had been dead for at least four hours, because rigor mortis had kicked in and his body was stiff.
She said, “In the name of Jesus, I command you to sit up!” In front of everyone, the man bolted up, still not breathing, with his eyes closed. Everyone in the carriage screamed! She commanded his spirit to come back, and he opened his eyes and began to cry. The doctors asked her eagerly what her method was, and she was able to share about the resurrection power of Jesus. – from Joel S.
