Every Saturday I volunteer at a healing service. On these mornings the sanctuary is filled with dancers, artists and musicians who create an atmosphere for people to relax in the presence of God while they wait for prayer.
I often serve as a “roving artist” in the sanctuary. I get my paper and pencils ready and ask God for a picture to draw for somebody. I believe pictures inspired by God can bring His healing power so I make sure I’m asking God what He wants me to draw every time. One particular morning my conversation with God went like this: “What should I draw, God?” A four-leafed clover. “What’s next?” Celebration. So, I drew red fireworks above a four-leafed clover. I continued: “Does the red mean anything?” God said, What do you think it means? I said, “Blood?” Yes. And where does blood flow from? I replied, “Bone Marrow.”
Underneath the picture I wrote the words, “Today is your lucky day! New bone marrow, new blood!” I asked God to show me who to give the picture to. One woman stood out to me so I handed her the picture and prayed for her. She didn’t respond to the picture at all and soon left the sanctuary.
One year later, the same woman returned to tell her story. She explained she had been diagnosed with a rare form of incurable Leukemia and at the time of visiting the healing service the previous year she had so little hope of recovery she hadn’t even listed her disease on her list of prayer needs. When she received the picture I drew for her she began to hope again. When she got home she stuck the picture on her window, above what had once been a pot plant, but was now dry soil.
One week later, to her astonishment, a four-leaf clover grew out of the soil! She was overjoyed and the miraculous plant gave her new hope for a miracle. Within six months, she was completely healed of leukemia and began actively praying for healing for others!
