While putting together the details for our mission trip to Haiti, I learned that we might be going to a place called the Tabernacle to minister and that there could be up to 20,000 in attendance. “Twenty thousand?” I asked incredulously. “Yes,” was the reply.
Seventeen years ago I was in a broken place in my life, and the Lord showed me a vision of myself standing on stage in front of a vast sea of people. At the time, I thanked the Lord for showing me all the people I would affect in my lifetime. That was how I interpreted what he showed me in the vision. I’m not one who seeks the stage or stands in front of the limelight. I get nervous and am much more comfortable behind the scenes.
But God spoke to me and said, “That vision I gave you seventeen years ago is this.” Wow! As time progressed and we moved closer to the trip, news came that we probably would not be doing that meeting at the Tabernacle. But I told everyone that we would indeed be doing that meeting, because this was the word of the Lord. Even after we arrived in Haiti, the schedule showed that we would not be able to go.
After sharing my testimony in another church, the pastor came to me and told me I needed to share my testimony to all of Haiti, and he wanted to take me to the Tabernacle. After contacting the leader there, we were invited to come not only to that location, where about 4,000 people showed up, but also to his Friday night healing service, attended by 6,000 to 8,000 people.
In the bus on our way to the meeting, one of my leaders, Andre, had a vision. He told me, “I saw the sovereign hand of God coming down. I think everyone will be healed tonight, and we won’t have to lay hands on anybody!”
Sure enough, after I’d shared my story and the Gospel had been preached, it seemed as if God’s hand came down upon the crowd! Supernatural healings and miracles broke out across the auditorium. We stood in awe that night as thousands of people waved their hands, declaring that they had been healed by Jesus!
I am amazed at how good my Father is. He planned this incredible event long ago and had me in His eyes! Since that meeting, the pastors informed me that not only did I get to preach to the many thousands in the Tabernacle, but when I spoke, I was also ministering to thousands on Haitian radio.
