I came to BSSM pretty burnt out. However, soon after I arrived in Redding, God made it clear He wanted to reveal himself as a good Father who really cared for me and my needs.
I felt inspired to move into an apartment to set myself up for the next few years. It was a risk financially and made no sense to take on a lease of an unfurnished apartment as an international student when you cannot earn an income. But I stepped out in faith!
The first day after moving I went into a panic and thought, “What the heck have I just done? I moved out of a furnished home and now I need to furnish this apartment with everything from a fork to a bed.” I had a sinking feeling until Holy Spirit said to me, “If you would just back off a little and make some room for me, I will come through for you and provide for you.” Wow! That was pretty clear. So I said, “Ok God, I trust you, even though I’m freaking out a little bit now.”
That same day I went with a friend to look at some furniture I’d inquired about on Facebook. I was shown the furniture, and before long the young lady started saying, “You can have this, a desk and chair; you can have this, 2 couches and a coffee table; you can have this, a queen bed and bedding; you can have this, a cutlery set; you can have this, glasses, mugs and plates; you can have this, a dining table and chairs.”
My mind was exploding in light of God’s utter provision with every detail met. Not only did this young lady offer me everything I would need to start off in an apartment, but she offered it to me for free! This was WAY MORE than I could have imagined God was going to provide for me. I had to rush off to Home Depot to rent a truck to move all of these blessings.
He’s a good Father who really does want to provide good gifts for His children. He is restoring to me the image and relationship of what a good father can be in a daughter’s life. It’s a new experience for me, but one that I’m enjoying to learn more about each day.
