I was at the beach on a wildlife refuge this afternoon. It is a 10 mile stretch of ocean/beach that feels like you are the last person on earth if you walk far enough. It is so beautiful! You cannot swim or sunbathe there because it is protected land. There are not usually many people and it is fairly remote. It was warmer there this afternoon than I expected. I was sitting after walking a little ways and I was really thirsty. I didn’t bring anything with me to drink. I was thinking how I should head back to the car to get a drink but I didn’t want to leave yet.
If I had to walk back to my car, I wouldn’t have had energy to walk back to the beach (I am dealing with some medical issues and get fatigued very easily). As I was sitting, I was thinking of how I wanted to go get this favorite smoothie of mine that is tropical on the way home but was debating spending money on it. I saw two people far off walking towards me so I decided to get up and walk a little more and then turn around to go back to the car. I started walking again and a little way up to the beach I saw something sparkling on the sand. I thought it was a potato chip bag but when I got to it and picked it up, it was a Capri Sun! It was full, unopened and the straw was unopened as well.
I walked with it for a few steps and stopped again and was wondering what God might be saying to me through it, the words ‘Roaring Waters’ caught my attention. But then I realized how thirsty I was and what I had in my hand! I carefully inspected it again to make sure it was okay to drink- it wasn’t even expired! So I took a small sip, realized it was okay and drank the rest of it while laughing and thanking God for providing drink for me in the middle of nowhere on a remote beach!
It was even somewhat cold, despite the fact that it had been laying in the sun and it was tropical flavored! This tropical drink came instead and met my desire for a tropical flavored drink!
Our Father knows our needs and our desires and can provide them out of nowhere, even on a remote stretch of beach!
