After having the honor of praying for Global Legacy leaders in England, I was overflowing with joy and the love of the Lord. At that point, it was the greatest experience of my mission trip. But God had more.
I went downstairs to have lunch with our team, and after eating, I went to the restroom. As I washed my hands next to my friend Kathleen, one of my hands began to burn. Kathleen and I looked at it, noticing it was turning bright red. I assumed I was having an allergic reaction to the soap. I washed my hands again, this time just with water. When I reached for a paper towel, I noticed writing on my hand and tried to wipe it off, but there was no change. I had Kathleen take another look. It was clear to both of us there was writing on my hand!
I went back to the table to see if I had leaned on anything that might have transferred the letters. There was nothing. We had been praying for hours, and I hadn’t been near anything! I asked the people with me what it looked like, and they all agreed it said, “I AM.”
WHAT?! Yes, God wrote His name on my hand! I showed the rest of the team and we were all in awe and wonder of God.
I found a corner and took time to sit in the intense love I was feeling. After a bit, I thought I should take a picture of the writing. As I tried to capture the letters with my camera, gold dust started to appear on my hand. I was consumed in His mystery and His extravagant love. The Lord led me to Isaiah 49:16, which says, “See, I have engraved you on the palms of My hands; your walls are ever before Me.” The writing and gold lasted for three hours and then was gone. My right hand burned for three days!
