At the end of the first night of a conference we were running, a young man came with his mother to ask for prayer as he had constant pain in his left hip and down his leg. He said the pain was constant and at that moment it was at an eight on a scale of one to ten, ten being excruciating. He also said it kept him awake at night and that he hadn’t slept well in months.
As we started praying for him, we felt led to laugh to bring joy and claim how easy healing is since it was all paid for 2,000 years ago. After a quick prayer we checked in with him and he said it felt like the pain was down to a four. We gave thanks, prayed again, and he said it was a down to a two. We gave thanks and prayed one last time, and he felt as if it was a one. It was late in the evening, so we declared over him that he’d have the best sleep ever and the pain would be gone in the morning. I told him that I was going to check on him the next day.
In the morning I found him and asked how he was. He said the pain was gone, and on top of that, he slept through the whole night. The rest of the week I asked him each day how he slept, and every day it was the same response: “like a baby.”
Later that afternoon I was in the church when the boy’s mother came into the room where we were. She wanted prayer for her neck pain, and she had obvious restricted movement from side to side. So we just did the same thing, calling out the testimony of her son, and asked her to check for improvement. All the pain left, and she had full movement of her neck! Celebration time followed as joy and dancing erupted.
