I had driven to a park in Redding where there were a lot of homeless people with a BSSM team and my 5-year-old son, Zeke. Each of us had asked god for some clues of where he wanted to heal, and we felt like He had led us to this location. As we arrived, we saw a lovely elderly man hobbling across the grass. He obviously had something seriously wrong with one of his legs. So we went over to him and asked what was going on. His right knee was swollen and very restricted in movement, so we shared some Testimonies of what we had seen God heal and asked if we could pray for his leg.
The man graciously obliged. Zeke stood off to the side and watched intently as the three of our group gathered around and put our hands on his leg. After praying, the man said he felt a little better but not much, and his knee was still swollen. Then I had this thought, “Get Zeke to pray for him.” So I said, “Z, want to come over and heal this man’s leg?” Zeke nervously came over and released a simple, quiet, child-like prayer, “Jesus… heal his leg.”
Immediately, the man jumped backwards releasing an expletive. “What did you do to my leg?” We asked him what was going on, and he said, “The swelling! The swelling just went away!” As we took a second look, his knee had shrunk 50% as Jesus moved through my little boy’s hands. We couldn’t believe it and celebrated wildly! The man was shocked and thanked us emotionally as he tested out his new leg. Zeke smiled as he saw joy and freedom filling this homeless man’s life. We prayed and blessed the man then had to leave.
As we drove away, a sense of child-like wonder filled the car. God’s Kingdom was fun and right at hand where the children play! – from Dave Harvey
