On December 18, I was in Montana sledding with some of my siblings. We had been out for only about five minutes when my 4-year-old sister and I had a pretty rough crash as we reached the bottom of the run. As we tumbled in different directions, I noticed that I was laughing but my sister was crying.
I ran over immediately and asked her what was wrong. She told me she had hurt her wrist. I was actually really surprised by what came out of my mouth. The first thing I enthusiastically said was, “Let’s ask Jesus to heal your wrist! Do you want to?”
My little sister looked up at me and said, “Yes!”
So I took her hand gently in mine and told her we’d ask Jesus to heal it. She nodded.
All of a sudden her weeping turned to laughter, and she told me she felt completely better. I was overjoyed that this had happened! This experience gave me a different perspective on how I can care for people. It also showed me how much God cares about our everyday lives.
