My heart sank. All I could do was sit there in complete shock, staring at the screen of my laptop. My internet provider had given me instructions to reset my internet. The customer service tech told me the reset process would delete all my downloads. That was no problem. I was eager to get my internet restored so I followed his instructions. What he didn’t tell me was that it would also delete all my photos! Every single one was gone! Thousands of memories from more than ten years were gone in one wrong click.
Half full of dread, half full of hope, I quickly turned my laptop off and then on again. Still no photos. And, a second time, still nothing. Out of pure desperation, I tried a third time. “Darn!” I said, feeling completely frustrated and annoyed at myself.
At that point, all I knew to do was pick up my cellphone and message my IT friend. He said he would look at it the next day. As soon as I saw his message, I thought, Why don’t I pray right now instead? I put my hands on my laptop and said, “God, I know I’ve made a stupid mistake but can you please restore everything back?” Then I turned my laptop off and on again and my mouth fell wide open. All my photos were there! My heart soared! I love how God can do anything. He is my Dad and can fix my silly mistakes.
