“Yes! Please! Even if you only have five minutes, please come pray for us!” Our schedule was booked solid, but we couldn’t say no to this office manager’s desperate cry. We rushed to catch the next train to her Brooklyn office. The police had falsely charged her company with being an alleged front for organized crime and the investigation was ruining her business.
Even though the staff knew we could only stay five minutes, they greeted us with open arms and a spread of delicious food. Unfortunately, we didn’t even have time to take off our coats, much less eat. We quickly prayed, encouraged the staff and headed out the door. Just then, we received a text that our next appointment had canceled! Instead of just a few minutes of rushed prayer, we got to take off our coats, enjoy breakfast and pray for the desperate situation that had brought us there. In faith, we boldly asked God to intervene and have all the organized crime charges dropped. Soon the office atmosphere went from desperation to thankfulness, hope and faith.
After two hours, we said goodbye and left for our next appointment. Within five minutes, our team leader’s phone rang. Once again it was the office manager, but this time, instead of desperation, it was a call of joy and excitement! As soon as our team had walked out the door, they had received a phone call telling them the police had dropped all the charges. The investigation was over! God loves justice!
