“Come on, God, I want more!” I’d been home in Norway for a couple of weeks on Christmas break from school when my parents asked me to pray for them. They had heard and seen what God had been doing in my life since attending Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry, and in excitement they wanted their relationship with God to deepen. They wanted more passion, intimacy, boldness, miracles, signs and wonders. They wanted the fire of God in their lives. As I prayed for them they felt tingling in their hands. They were excited to tangibly feel God but I was disappointed. I expected something more so I prayed out loud, “God, send down fire!”
Instantly, we heard wind rushing down the chimney and the fire that had died out two hours before suddenly exploded into flames! We all sat there stunned. We couldn’t believe our eyes! In Norway the wind blows down chimneys sometimes but never like that, not even in the craziest storms. We were completely amazed! The fire continued to burn for over an hour!
Looking back now, it still feels surreal, almost like an Old Testament miracle when Elijah the prophet called down fire. God displayed some of His awesomeness and glory in our family’s living room. I still find it incredible that God sent fire in response to my prayer. He heard me and fire came down!
